  1. Our favorite Christmas Tradition would be that we gather all 30 of my family members at my Nana's house on Christmas Eve for Christmas Dinner. We go fishing, play games, and usually, later that night, we get a visit from Santa & Mrs. Claus. They bring all the kids presents and then we get to watch him fly away on his sleigh as he screams "Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year"....It's definitely for the kids, but the adults enjoy watching the kids enjoy it just as much! I love my family. We did this since I was born and now I get to watch my kids do it! Amazing!

Our favorite Christmas tradition is letting the kids purchase a Hallmark ornament. Growing up, my mom's best friend purchased one for my sisters and myself and it was one of the best memories I have. I am happy to carry on the tradition--and now they have much cooler ornaments! My kids love all the characters, and putting them on the tree. Combining their homemade and Hallmark ornaments with mine and my husband's is the best!

  3. My son is 3 and I think this will be the first year that he will really know what is going on. He went to see Santa this year and actually told him what he was hoping to see under the tree :) So we need to start our own traditions. One of the things we did was build a gingerbread house (it only has half of the candy on it because my son was eating it as we were building, lol!). I think that would be a good tradition.

  7. Every year for Christmas Eve, all of us go to my Dad's house. It's filled with food, drinks, games, and gifts. It usually lasts until the wee hours of the morning. On Christmas Day, I cook breakfast for the family and we hang out at home. Also, Santa leaves his mark every year he visits us. We have received a "1st place ribbon" on our Christmas Tree, he has left Boot Prints, and reindeer food in the front yard :)

  16. My favorite holiday tradition is shopping the day after Thanksgiving. I've done it every year since I was a baby. My mom, my sister and now my two little girls and I all go to the local stores early and then hop on the 6:55am train to downtown Chicago and shop all up and down State St. and Michigan Ave. It's a crazy, exhausting day, but I wouldn't trade it for anything.

  25. My favorite Christmas tradition hasn't existed in many years...but it was looking in all of the stockings my mom had up for me all over the basement....the main one, and then a few other smaller ones....one being a kitty cat with a pouch for the stalking...I miss being a kid on Christmas....=)

  27. Mine is taking each one of my 3 kids shopping one by one. They each buy gifts for friends and family. I let them pick what ever they want for each person. Sometimes its just so funny to see what they pick for people. This really helps them understand that the holidays should be more about giving than receiving. Then on Christmas eve we let each child pass out their finds to all the family members. They have gotten to a point where they look more forward to this than actual Christmas morning.
